Being overweight is one of the biggest health problems facing the human race. By any measure it is a bad thing - overweight people suffer psychologically as well as physically.

Almost everyone who has been on a diet will agree that diets are not an answer in the long term. In fact, dieting tends to increase hunger and increase people's stress levels. Many people eat for comfort, so anyone who is eating because they are uncomfortable because they are dieting is in a bind... Also, dieting forces a focus on the problem - when people are eating naturally they should not have to think about their food consumption at all.

The solution comes in three parts:

  1. Find the food-comfort connections which the over-eater has made and undo them; substituting them with connections between the foods which are eaten to excess and danger to health, figure, etc.
  2. Help you to accept the idea of eating in a way which makes it easier for the body to regulate calorie intake.
  3. Build an understanding of the way in which natural, lasting satisfaction is found, from using their innate strenghts and resources in order to meet real emotional needs.
